If you upload data to PostGRES using Manifold, Quantum can read it just fine.  But, Arcgis will not.  The reason is, Arcgis can only handle point, line, polygon, multipolygon, multipoint, etc.  PostGRES, Manifold, and Quantum can handle the default "geometry" type, which is what Manifold uploads in.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The way to change this is to go into PGAdmin and open up the geometry_columns table.  Then, for the Type field, you need to change the record for whatever kind of geometry is in the data (i.e. MULTIPOLYGON).
